I popped into George Street Social recently and was happy to discover that they don’t charge extra for plant-based milks, and make a delicious vegan hot chocolate, so the coffee shop/restaurant/bar is already a great spot to hang out with friends, grabbing a hot drink and maybe playing some board games.
I love the Mamma Mia pizza base – the crust was lovely and crisp, with the rest of the dough still soft but perfectly baked. The well-seasoned tomato sauce was covered with a generous handful of vegan cheese which actually melted.
There’s a new community cafĂ© in Oxford and I’m happy to report it’s on my side of town! Cafe Kraken is a welcoming, relaxed food spot on Holloway, East Oxford with a focus on sustainability, therefore naturally an emphasis on plant-based food.
