There were actually more vegan options on the menu than I could try in one sitting, which I was really impressed by. If a small local business such as this can manage, there’s definitely no excuse for other cafes and restaurants not to follow suit!

Jackie Kearney’s Vegan Mock Meat Revolution seemed like a welcome addition to my already heaving cookery book shelf – you’ll see I often opt for meat alternatives while eating out, but I very rarely dabble with them when cooking at home. It’s a very different recipe book from most of those that I own, and I was keen to dive in and try some of the meal ideas out.
There’s a new vegan burger in town! Two, in fact. Fernando’s Burgers, an offshoot of Fernando’s Cafe (found at the bottom of Carfax Tower in town), are currently available via Deliveroo, and got in touch with me seeking feedback on their new vegan offering.
