Cinnamon Kitchen was one of the first restaurants to open in the new Westgate on the rooftop terrace, serving up creative modern-Indian dishes in an elegant setting. I’d spied the menu before they opened and there are plenty of veggie-friendly dishes featured, but I wasn’t sure how much they’d be able to offer vegans with the dairy seemingly featuring heavily. I was happy this weekend however to be proved wrong…

The vegan breakfast itself was delicious and incredibly filling, particularly great value for the price. This has got to be the go-to place for any veggie students with a hangover this term! A big plate with falafel, beans, mushrooms, hash browns, houmous, spinach, and a tomato, are served with a portion of toast on the side.
I’ve visited Banana Tree a couple of times before when I wasn’t vegan, and felt that it was quite hit and miss – if you ordered well, you’d love it, but if you made the wrong choice, you’d leave feeling pretty disappointed. Exploring the vegetarian menu though (most of which is also vegan), I found myself faced with way too many choices.
